MEAN WELL MSP-1600 Series – Medical Grade Power Supply
The MSP-1600 series is the latest edition to the MSP series, as the first model in the MSP range to exceed 1000W output. The MEAN WELL MSP-1600 is designed as a medical-grade power supply, featuring medical 60601-1 certification, and is harmonised and recognised in Australia as AS/NZS IEC 60601.1.

The MSP-1600 is built on the NSP-1600, designed to meet stringent medical certification requirements, and includes upgrades to meet industry demands. These upgrades include ultra-low leakage current (<500 μA, 2 x MOPP), an expanded operating temperature range (-40°C to +85°C), and a programmed output voltage (via CAN bus) adjustable from 15% to 115%.
The MSP-1600 series features four models corresponding to their voltage outputs listed here:
- 12V (125A)
- 24V (67A)
- 36V (44.5A)
- 48V (33.5A)
The MSP-1600 series features standard protections, including overload protection (constant-current limiting; 105~115% of rated output), overvoltage, and overtemperature. Like the wider MSP family, this enclosed power supply features conformal coating to prevent condensation/moisture buildup, as well as potential fungal growth. The MSP-1600 complies with OVC-III certifications, making it ideal for distribution panel boards and fixed electrical installations.
The MEAN WELL MSP-1600 series is also backed by a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty.
