When it comes to LED high bay lights MEAN WELL offers a specific LED driver for this application.

This is the HBG series LED driver.

It has been specifically designed to mount on top of your LED high bay light’s heatsink, and look like a proprietary designed component. Once fitted to your LED high bay light, the MEAN WELL HBG LED driver label is invisible to your customer.

All models come with a 5 year warranty and have a high efficiency rating.

Australian Electrical Safety Certification

If you are considering using this LED driver there is something that you need to be aware of. It doesn't carry Australian electrical safety certification, so you will need to submit your end product for safety testing and certification. 

This can be a costly exercise. If this is something you would like to avoid, we recommend that you use either an HLG or ELG series LED driver. 

Both the HLG and ELG series LED drivers carry Australian electrical safety certification. The HLG series LED drivers have a 7-year warranty and the ELG series a 5-year warranty. 

If you decide to use one of the HLG or ELG LED drivers, we recommend that you allow space in your product design so that a larger driver can be used if necessary. This can help when you experience those instances where you may need to do an urgent production run and cannot buy enough of the preferred LED driver. It allows you to specify alternative models, which can be used if necessary.
